Clandestine w/ the new City of Chaos expansion hit the table in St. Louis at the 2024 Stonemaier Design Day.
Ten players commanded their secret societies through numerous ascensions while they navigated the extended chaos that the new City of Chaos expansion introduced to the game. The event is a great place to get feedback and ideas from fellow designers and playtesters and has become a staple in my board game events each year. While the day is NOT a competition, players give each prototype a rating. Clandestine w/ the City of Chaos expansion ended up with the highest rating from playtesters at this year's event! In the morning at the event, I had the opportunity to play Purgatory Ponzi and Kells - both medieval games inspired by events ~1,000 years ago that had great theme integrated with clever gameplay. I look forward to seeing both of those designs progress and seeing them on the table in the near future.
